This is my Empire. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
My Empire is my best friend. It is my life. WOAH! Ok that’s a bit too dramatic, let me start over:
I did not buy this, nor was it given to me for review. It was a gift for my 1-year vaper vers Ary. So it’s mine and I can be as harsh and honest as I want about it.
A brief presentation:
The Empire Mod is a Personal Vaporiser with a 901 connection and a telescopic body capable of utilizing batteries from sizes of 18350 to 18650 (so basically 18350, 18490 and 18650) without any add-ons or additional parts. The telescopic body is naturally a huge feature of the device but perhaps what makes it so desirable is the changeable sleeves that, in combination with matching drip shields make up for hundreds if not thousands of combinations on the same device. Personally, the 901 connectors were THE feature I wanted, I had to have it, I needed it! And my infatuation with it for the best part of a year is why I’ll just be presenting it, without doing my customary “duck ratings”
Empire In Mini-Mode (covered vent holes)
I have handled a LOT of PV‘s over the past few months and the Empire is arguably the lightest.. well the lightest metal one, arguably the lightest overall! Mine was supposed to be a used one, fucked if I can see ANY sign of use on it! A good thing for most this lack of use makes me sad, sad to think that someone had this sexy piece of kit on a shelf sitting on its little stand and never used it. Oh well.
As build quality goes this is superb! It’s one persistent set of threads keeping everything together, and they work so wonderfully together I cannot stop fiddling with it.. and I’ve been told if I don’t stop I’ll go blind!
I have discovered a flaw! YES, I SAID IT. A FLAW! Which is probably never going to be a problem for my use, but since I don’t remember someone mentioning it I am perfectly willing to take credit for discovering it. Basically what happens is that if you are using the empire with an 18350 battery in it’s shortest setting, the vent holes get covered by the sleeve. Granted the sleeve is threaded so there is a bit of an air escape but in this form, it is quite limited. I never really plan to use it with an 18350 so it’s not a big deal for me. In fact, I find the 18490 configurations to be absolutely wonderful.
Took me the best part of a year to get one, and even at that point, it wasn’t my site stalking that did it. These are made in such small numbers and sold almost exclusively at vape meets that getting one, unless really lucky, is a huge pain in the arse.
I can see the reasons behind it, both from quality control and marketing. I just don’t like them. I didn’t like them before I had one, I kind of enjoy being part of the few that have one now. but that’s only cause I’m an elitist fucktard.
